The Desert is in Full Celebration!

Celebrating the rains that have been happening at good intervals since the end of September, fostering one of the best fall to winter season we’ve seen in years. The mountain ranges in and around Phoenix appear to be blanketed in velvety green thanks to all the ground level greenery. And wildflowers that would normally wait until February or March are taking advantage of the nourishing rain to get their blooms on now. It's so joyful to go for a trail ride and see the desert looking so happy with all the flowers and butterflies right now. My recent inventory of flowering plants I’ve seen on rides: Globe Mallow, Brittlebush, Chaparral, Chicory, Deer Vetch, Purple Scorpion weed, Desert Cassia, Poppies, Desert Marigold, Desert  Buckwheat, and Christmas Cholla…so named for its little red fruit balls that showed up right on schedule.

Happy Desert!
